I’m very pleasantly surprised! For once in my life I finally have a swimsuit that I actually like. I’m not kidding and the best way to describe my statement of satisfaction is by comparison to other suits I have had over the years. When I was young, cutoff jeans were the most common for long-haired hippie-types like me when we would get together at one of the local swimmin' holes. Cutoffs were "cool" but since they dry slowly they were too cool (cold) when the sun went down. You also weren't allowed to wear then at public pools for various reasons. I’ve been using cutoffs in my hot-tub lately unfortunately the chlorine kills the cotton fabric quickly. To the best of my memory, only two other alternatives existed. The most common alternative was a swimsuit that is very similar to gym shorts with webbing interior liner. That liner had to be made from the same thing that kitchen pot-scrubbies were made from (ouch) and the balloon nature of the swim shorts filled with air if you jumped into the water or if you were sitting near jets in a hot tub. They would inflate like you were wearing a safety vest on your bottom half. Really embarrassingly awful...The other lessor seen alternative is what everyone calls a "speed-o". For those that choose to wear them, good for you. I'm sure it's a classic design but it is definitely not for me.Spin forward to these days and this swimsuit… After initial machine washing warm, mid temp tumble dryer, the liner is soft and has just the right amount of cling to feel more like underpants and not at all like a pot scrubber. The outer suit is stretchy but not tight or weird. Maybe I got lucky and found the exact size which for me at 5’-10” and 200 pounds is XL for this brand. I’m telling you, this is comfortable. Add to this the zipper pocket, which should make it nearly impossible for a room key card to be lost at the beach.Time will tell how long it stays on my happy to have found it list. In my life, the hot-tub chemicals usually are the demise of all fabrics and I don’t expect this to be anything different (SIDE NOTE: I think I’ll investigate a change to a non-chlorine water sanitizer). I’ll revise my review if I feel that there is something beneficial to report. This swimsuit I received is grey and I’ll be buying another color in the near future if these do as well as I suspect they will. Recommended!MY RATING SYSTEM: To be fair to both potential buyers and sellers, all items are “average” until I discover otherwise. Please remember that average is 3-Star - right in the middle - not 5-Star, and that my review is based on my use and research, not how I would guess you will use or rate the item. Raising or lowering the score is earned as outlined in paragraphs below.Since only full point scoring is allowed, partial scores will be rated higher if half point or more and rated lower if under half point. Rating scores may be revised at a later date if there is a reason to do so that was originally unforeseen. Thank you.5-STAR = Much better than advertised and/or expected. Claims are realistic; ratings & certifications are appropriate and checked out where possible. Exceeds 4-STAR. “ WOW” kind of items definitely to be recommended.4-STAR = As expected or better. Fairly priced, good quality & usability, not likely to fall apart. “KEEP & USE” items to be recommended or purchased again repeatedly as needed.3-STAR - As expected. Claims are realistic; ratings & certifications are appropriate and checked out where possible. Items are good quality, well finished, and priced fairly however nothing stands out. Examples include mass-produced “ME-TOO” items for sale under many different names.2-STAR = Not as good as expected. The item works, but does not quite meet specifications of 3 STAR or better as described above. “NEEDS IMPROVEMENT”1-STAR = Far below expectation.
